AI is tegenwoordig overal. We lezen dat AI de komende jaren steeds meer werk zal overnemen en veranderen.
Dat klinkt interessant, maar voor veel bedrijven is het ook een serieuze uitdaging. Sommige sectoren zullen sterk moeten vernieuwen om relevant te blijven. Daar speelt Aspyre een rol in.
Onze missie is om bestaande accountants 4x zoveel klanten te laten bedienen dan ze vandaag de dag doen zonder dat hun team hoeft mee te groeien.
Hierbij is het uitermate belangrijk dat de persoonlijke relatie tussen de accountant en hun klant, niet verwaterd maar idealiter zelfs verbeterd!
Dat doen we door Aspyre te koppelen aan de software die accountants al gebruiken en processen te automatiseren die veel tijd kosten, maar relatief weinig waarde opleveren.
We combineren controleerbare en voorspelbare software met AI. Zo gebruiken we de sterke kanten van beide technologieën en we zoeken iemand die ons daarbij wil helpen.

Met ons huidige product hebben we onze eerste klanten aangetrokken en bewezen dat er vraag is naar wat we bouwen. We hebben hard gewerkt om te ontdekken wat accountants echt nodig hebben en nu gaan we de volgende fase in, en dat is gaaf! Met veel excitement kijken we naar de uitdaging om straks honderden accountants en duizenden administraties in Aspyre te kunnen versnellen.
We willen ons product verder ontwikkelen tot een stabiel, snel en schaalbaar platform waar accountantskantoren 24/7 op kunnen vertrouwen.
Dat betekent dat we onze architectuur en performance verbeteren, verantwoordelijkheden binnen de applicatie beter scheiden en ondertussen nieuwe functionaliteit blijven bouwen. En daar kom jij in beeld.
Waar je aan werkt
Als Full Stack Developer werk je aan vrijwel het hele product: van React-interfaces tot de Python-backend, databases en koppelingen met externe accountingsystemen.
De ene dag optimaliseer je een datastroom. De volgende dag bouw je een deel van de backend op of probeer je te begrijpen waarom een obscure SOAP API zich anders gedraagt dan in de documentatie staat.
En dat doen we als team!
Wat je onder andere gaat doen
- Onze architectuur verder ontwikkelen naar een schaalbaar en production-ready platform.
- Duidelijke grenzen creëren tussen onze data- en integratielaag, businesslogica en outputlaag.
- De performance, betrouwbaarheid en schaalbaarheid van onze backend verbeteren.
- Integraties met externe API's bouwen en onderhouden.
- Onze PostgreSQL-datalaag optimaliseren.
- Nieuwe productfunctionaliteit bouwen in Python en React.
- Frontend en backend met elkaar verbinden en visuele prototypes omzetten naar production-ready code.
- Samenwerken met een erg leuk team.
We vinden kwaliteit belangrijk, maar geloven ook dat kwaliteit altijd in balans moet zijn met snelheid.
Je moet kunnen inschatten wanneer iets technisch goed moet worden uitgewerkt en wanneer het belangrijker is om snel iets bij gebruikers te krijgen en daarvan te leren.
Als startup verwachten we dat je begrijpt hoe belangrijk die balans is.
Wat we zoeken
Je hoeft niet alles al te weten. We vinden het belangrijker dat je goed kunt nadenken over nieuwe problemen en snel nieuwe dingen kunt leren.
Je hebt
- Sterke Python-vaardigheden en ervaring met het bouwen van echte applicaties.
- Ervaring met TypeScript en React. Je voelt je comfortabel aan de frontend en ziet jezelf niet alleen als backend developer.
- Goede databasekennis. Je begrijpt relationele databases, PostgreSQL en de basis van databaseontwerp, querying en performance-optimalisatie.
- Ervaring met API's. REST API's zijn bekend terrein en je schrikt niet van minder prettige integraties, zoals SOAP API's.
- Een kritische manier van denken. Als je denkt dat een architectuurkeuze die wij hebben gemaakt niet goed is, willen we dat je dat zegt en uitlegt hoe jij het anders zou aanpakken.
- Praktische ervaring met AI-assisted development. We zoeken iemand die AI-agents slim weet te gebruiken, zonder blind te vertrouwen op wat ze produceren. Als OpenAI of Anthropic morgen uitvalt, moet je nog steeds zelfstandig verder kunnen werken.
- Basisniveau Nederlands. Je Nederlands hoeft niet perfect te zijn, maar je moet kunnen functioneren in een Nederlandstalige werkomgeving: onze klanten spreken hoofdzakelijk nederlands, en we vinden het belangrijk dat je in staat bent de nederlandse accounting context te kunnen begrijpen.
- Enige kennis van accounting, of de bereidheid om dit te leren. Je hoeft geen accountant te zijn, maar je moet wel begrijpen voor welke wereld je software bouwt. Dit is een sterke plus!
Het type developer met wie we graag werken
Je vindt het leuk om technisch moeilijke dingen te bouwen met mensen die je vertrouwt en met wie je ook kunt lachen.
Je bent ambitieus en wilt steeds beter worden in je vak, maar je hoeft niet te bewijzen dat jij de slimste persoon in de ruimte bent.
Je stelt vragen, daagt aannames uit en vindt het normaal dat anderen hetzelfde bij jou doen.
Je ideeën worden gehoord en je werk heeft directe invloed op het product.
Je zult regelmatig iets bouwen dat kort daarna daadwerkelijk in productie draait en door klanten wordt gebruikt.

AI is everywhere these days. We keep reading that AI will take over and change more and more work in the coming years.
That sounds interesting, but for many companies it is also a serious challenge. Some sectors will have to renew themselves significantly to stay relevant. That is where Aspyre comes in.
Our mission is to let existing accountants serve 4x as many clients as they do today, without their team having to grow along with it.
It is extremely important that the personal relationship between accountants and their clients does not weaken, but ideally even improves!
We do this by connecting Aspyre to the software accountants already use and automating processes that take a lot of time but deliver relatively little value.
We combine auditable, predictable software with AI. That way we use the strengths of both technologies, and we are looking for someone who wants to help us with that.
Help build the next version of Aspyre
With our current product we have attracted our first customers and proven there is demand for what we build. We have worked hard to discover what accountants really need, and now we are entering the next phase, which is exciting! We are looking forward to the challenge of soon speeding up hundreds of accountants and thousands of administrations in Aspyre.
We want to develop our product into a stable, fast and scalable platform that accounting firms can rely on 24/7.
That means improving our architecture and performance, separating responsibilities within the application more clearly, and continuing to build new functionality along the way. That is where you come in.
What you'll work on
As a Full Stack Developer you work on almost the entire product: from React interfaces to the Python backend, databases and integrations with external accounting systems.
One day you optimize a data flow. The next day you build part of the backend or try to understand why an obscure SOAP API behaves differently than its documentation says.
And we do that as a team!
What you'll do, among other things
- Evolve our architecture into a scalable, production-ready platform.
- Create clear boundaries between our data and integration layer, business logic and output layer.
- Improve the performance, reliability and scalability of our backend.
- Build and maintain integrations with external APIs.
- Optimize our PostgreSQL data layer.
- Build new product functionality in Python and React.
- Connect frontend and backend and turn visual prototypes into production-ready code.
- Work together with a really fun team.
We care about quality, but we also believe quality should always be balanced with speed.
You need to be able to judge when something deserves careful technical work and when it matters more to get something to users quickly and learn from it.
As a startup, we expect you to understand how important that balance is.
What we're looking for
You don't need to know everything already. We care more about you being able to think well about new problems and learn new things quickly.
You have
- Strong Python skills and experience building real applications.
- Experience with TypeScript and React. You are comfortable on the frontend and don't see yourself as only a backend developer.
- Good database knowledge. You understand relational databases, PostgreSQL and the basics of database design, querying and performance optimization.
- Experience with APIs. REST APIs are familiar territory and you are not put off by less pleasant integrations, such as SOAP APIs.
- A critical way of thinking. If you think an architectural choice we made is wrong, we want you to say so and explain how you would approach it differently.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development. We are looking for someone who uses AI agents smartly, without blindly trusting what they produce. If OpenAI or Anthropic goes down tomorrow, you should still be able to keep working independently.
- Basic Dutch. Your Dutch doesn't have to be perfect, but you need to be able to function in a Dutch-speaking work environment: our customers mainly speak Dutch, and we find it important that you can understand the Dutch accounting context.
- Some knowledge of accounting, or the willingness to learn it. You don't have to be an accountant, but you do need to understand the world you are building software for. This is a strong plus!

You enjoy building technically difficult things with people you trust and can laugh with.
You are ambitious and want to keep getting better at your craft, but you don't need to prove you are the smartest person in the room.
You ask questions, challenge assumptions and find it normal when others do the same to you.
Your ideas are heard and your work has a direct impact on the product.
You will regularly build something that shortly afterwards runs in production and is used by customers.
